The Urban Photography Club operates under a comprehensive set of rules designed to ensure fair competition, maintain high-quality standards, and foster a supportive community environment for all members. All submitted photographs must be original work created by the submitting member, taken within urban environments including cities, towns, suburbs, or metropolitan areas, and must not have been previously submitted to our club competitions or published in other photography contests. Images must be submitted in high-resolution digital format using JPG, PNG, or WebP file formats only, with a maximum file size of 1MB to ensure optimal website performance and accessibility for all members. Each photograph must have minimum dimensions of 1200x800 pixels to maintain display quality standards, and all images should be properly edited and processed to showcase the photographer's best work while avoiding over-manipulation that significantly alters the original scene. Members are limited to submitting a maximum of three photographs per category per month, allowing for diverse participation while preventing any single member from overwhelming the competition, and all submissions must be received by 11:59 PM on the last day of each month to be eligible for that month's competition and voting process.
Community standards and behavioral expectations are fundamental to maintaining the positive, educational atmosphere that defines our Urban Photography Club experience for all members regardless of their skill level or experience. All members must treat fellow photographers with respect, courtesy, and professionalism in all interactions whether through our voting system, live chat features, comments sections, or any club-related communications, ensuring that constructive criticism is offered helpfully rather than destructively. Voting must be conducted fairly and honestly based solely on photographic merit, technical excellence, creativity, and adherence to monthly themes, with any evidence of vote manipulation, spam voting, or coordinated efforts to influence results resulting in immediate disqualification from current and future competitions. Members are encouraged to provide thoughtful feedback and engagement with others' work, sharing knowledge about techniques, locations, and urban photography approaches to foster learning and community growth. Inappropriate content including but not limited to offensive language, discriminatory remarks, personal attacks, or images containing explicit material will not be tolerated and may result in temporary suspension or permanent removal from the club depending on the severity of the violation. All submitted photographs must respect privacy rights, property rights, and local laws regarding photography in urban environments, and members are responsible for ensuring they have proper permissions for any recognizable individuals appearing in their street photography submissions.
